SFA Society Annual Fundraiser, September 2, 2012.
Since 2002, the SFA Society has provided financial support for the superior extracurricular activities at Austin High through tax-deductible gifts. Our donors have funded in excess of $250,000 in grants to athletic, academic and other UIL activities on campus. More than two dozen different Austin High extracurricular organizations, for instance, Ballet Folklorico, band, baseball, basketball, cheer, cross country, debate, football, golf, lacrosse, orchestra, Red Dragon Players, Red Jackets, soccer, softball, swimming, and tennis, have been grant recipients. Providing our students with these opportunities reduces dropout rates, increases academic achievement, builds self-esteem, and teaches skills that will last a lifetime. The society’s sole fundraising event is an annual dinner held Labor Day weekend for AHS alums, students, and parents. It’s a fun opportunity to mingle with the very students your generous donations support. We hope you will join the Maroon Nation at this year’s dinner at the home of Julie and Ben Crenshaw on September 2, 2012; Coach Rosenthal, new AHS Athletic Director, will be the featured speaker. Tickets cost $125 per person. Send ticket requests or donations to SFA Society, care of Julia Howry, 2401 Sweetbrush Drive, Austin, Texas 78703. For questions about the dinner, please contact Steve Saunders,
